In the fall of 1990, McWilliams Sales & Service acquired the assets of McWilliams Machinery Sales, a former Division of Textron and Bridgeport Machines. McWilliams Machinery Sales, established in 1969, was the company responsible for the importation and sales of Japax Electrical Discharge Machines in North America. Today, there are still approximately 85% of these machines in service and used on a daily basis. Between 1988 and 1990 McWilliams Machinery Sales also imported Sodick EDMs, which were sold under both the McWilliams and Sodick names. McWilliams Sales & Service continues to provide service and support for all Japax and McWilliams/Sodick EDMs sold by the former company.

In addition, since 1980 we have imported and sold new Japanese-designed small-hole EDMs throughout North America, and in 1995 McWilliams introduced their fourth generation manual models. Then, in 1998, added a more economical manual version along with a newly designed CNC machine.

During the early 1990’s Sodick acquired Japax and suspended manufacturing of the company’s EDM product line. In 1995, McWilliams Sales & Service negotiated the purchase of assets, spare parts and technical information for the Japax product line from KGK-I/Sodick. As a direct result of that business transaction and others to follow, McWilliams Sales & Service today is the single source for all Japax parts worldwide.

Dedicated to the EDM market, McWilliams Sales & Service has expanded its product line to include buying previously-owned Electrical Discharge Machines, reconditioning this equipment and then selling them back to our end users. Due to the expertise gained over many years specializing in Japax and Sodick machines, we have become one of the leading companies in the U.S. for complete reconditioning of said equipment, with 75% of our business resulting from referrals or repeat orders. We feel this speaks volumes for the quality of our rebuilding process and support.

Continuing our efforts to improve and better serve our customers, we moved from Charlotte to a newer facility in Mooresville, North Carolina in 2005.  We also doubled the size of our Sales & Support facility in Brighton, Michigan that same year.

	Dave Edmunds - President / Owner dje@mcwilliamsedm.com Dave, originally from England, has spent his entire 43-year career in the EDM industry spanning the world market working for or with GKN, SPARCATRON, CHARMILLES, ONA, HITACHI and JAPAX. For most of that time he has held executive positions responsible for manufacturing, sales, service and demonstration. In 1984 Dave came to the USA to join McWilliams, specializing in JAPAX and OEM SODICK products.

	Jeff McWilliams - EDM Sales jeffm@mcwilliamsedm.com Jeff has 31 years of experience relevant to the sale of JAPAX, FANUC, K.T.C., ONA and SODICK EDMs throughout North America. He was the National Sales Manager during the period McWilliams imported, sold and supported the JAPAX and SODICK / McWilliams EDM product lines. Jeff also served in the same capacity with FANUC EDM during the early 1990’s. 	Mike D'Amore - Senior Service Engineer miked@mcwilliamsedm.com Mike joined McWilliams 30 years ago direct from military service. He has spent all this time servicing JAPAX, early generation SODICK, ONA and CDM ROVELLA EDM Machines. Mike also reconditions JAPAX Wire, Sinker, Small Hole EDMs and SODICK Wire machines.
	Todd Dearth - Service/Applications Engineer toddd@mcwilliamsedm.com Todd brings a wealth of experience to our applications department, which was gained operating JAPAX and SODICK machines in various job shops. He joined us eight years ago and is able to provide installation, training and service on our full line of K.T.C. small hole drilling machines, as well as JAPAX and SODICK EDMs. He is also a part of our reconditioning team for JAPAX and SODICK EDMs and his total EDM expertise is 23 years.
	Gary Dunn - Service Engineer garyd@mcwilliamsedm.com Gary joined McWilliams 10 years ago while still attending school, acquiring expertise to provide service, installation, training, reconditioning of JAPAX and SODICK EDMs, as well as our full line of K.T.C. small hole drillers.
